  • Cost reductions through simulation of the measurement process

G.U.M method

This method applies the law of propagation of input variable uncertainties in accordance with standard NF ENV 13005. The combined standard uncertainty is estimated from the sensitivity and standard uncertainty of the variables.
This method has the advantage of establishing a balance sheet of contributory uncertainties, allowing the causes of aggravating errors in the measuring process to be seen at a glance, thus determining which error sources to improve to reduce overall uncertainty.

The MONTE CARLO method

The Monte Carlo method simulates input variables by using distribution curves to generate large numbers of random observations and simulate their uncertainty. The results spread is expressed by a probability distribution equation for the overall function, with schematic representation of the simulated input values. The random number generator was developed by the French Laboratoire National d’Essais.
